Sacred

Our Sacred Journey

From the beginning, Epic Life has been a story of people saying yes to God and trusting Him with what comes next. Again and again, we’ve seen God work through ordinary people, faithful obedience, and generous hearts to reach people with the hope of Jesus. Sacred is the next step in that journey. As we look back and celebrate all God has done, we’re also looking forward with expectation. We are asking what He wants to do in us and through us as we surrender our time, talents, resources, and future to Him.

A Note from Pastor Brent

“Every area of our lives is a sacred space belonging to God.”

Sacred is not a word you hear often in our world. But it’s the word the Lord gave me in the spring of 2017 as He began birthing the vision for Epic Life in my heart. A vision to see Christ-followers transforming their everyday places into sacred spaces where people can connect with Christ.
When I first wrote out our vision statement, I had no idea what the Lord was going to do with it. But as I look back on this Epic adventure, one of the greatest joys of my life has been watching that vision come to life right before our eyes. We praise God as we have seen hundreds of lives changed, 392 people go public with their faith through baptism, and more than 150 of you have had the privilege of personally baptizing someone.
I want you to know that we are just getting started. The Lord has so much more in store for us as a church family. As I have prayed about what lies ahead for us, the Lord has continually brought me back to the same word he gave me nine years ago: Sacred. I am convinced that our vision is as much a priority to the Lord today as the day He first spoke it into my heart.
This is why we want to introduce to you a two-year discipleship journey in generosity that we are calling Sacred. We believe that if we are going to go where the Lord is wanting to take us as a church, it is going to require every one of us beginning to see every area of our lives as a sacred space belonging to God. Not just Sunday mornings, but our marriages, families, workplaces, friendships, time, talent, treasure, and yes, even our rest. You see, if Jesus is Lord of our lives, that means He is Lord over every aspect of our lives.
That’s the heart behind this two-year discipleship journey in generosity that we are calling Sacred. Not only is this journey rooted in our vision, but it’s also rooted in our mission, which has and will always be to invite people each day to EXPERIENCE the presence of Christ, EXPRESS their love to the Lord and the world around them, and EXPAND the Kingdom of God. And as we step out in faith on this Sacred journey, we are launching three initiatives that are rooted in our mission. We are calling these three initiatives our E3 (Experience Initiative, Express Initiative, Expand Initiative).
As we collectively step out in faith on this Sacred journey, I want to invite you to pray about where God is asking you to trust Him more. What is He asking you to surrender? How does He want to use your time, talents, resources and every day life to advance His Kingdom? If we will surrender every area of our lives to Jesus and say yes to whatever He is asking of us, we will look back two years from now and be amazed by what God built through us, as a result of what He did in us.
Epic Life, are you ready to lay your YES on the table and step into this Sacred journey?
I pray that you are!

Honored to be your pastor and serve our Lord,
